Sanya Lopez has kept the fire burning as a Kapuso as she renewed her contract with the network on July 29.
The actress had a successful primetime teleserye with First Yaya with Gabby Concepcion.
During her virtual press conference, Lopez said that the story of First Yaya really mesmerized her and even wished that writers would create more meaningful series like it.
“Natuwa talaga ako sa story ng First Yaya kung paano ‘yung ginawa nilang storya doon. Ang laki ng impact hindi lang sa amin, pati na rin sa ibang tao.
“Sana sa lahat ng story na magawa ng ating mga writers, sana ganoon din talaga na may puso,” she said.
First Yaya was well-received by the people as it previously became the most-watched weekday program scoring 21.0% on April 29. This was according to the AGB Nielsen NUTAM survey.
Lopez said that the series also helped her gain more followers on social media and become a household name.
“Una, dumami ‘yung mga followers, pangalawa dumami ‘yung mga supporters. Kung saan-saan na nga ako lumalabas. Ang daming gumagawa ng mga videos. Pangatlo, ang dami kong nare-receive na messages na talagang inspired po dahil sa First Yaya. Laging tinatanong nila sa akin kung kailan ang Book 2,” she said.
The 24-year-old actress also said that she is looking forward to book 2 for their series.
“Sa lahat ng pinagdaanan namin sa First Yaya, sobrang saya. Feeling ko ang hirap talagang bitawan. Kasi magagaling ‘yung mga kasama ko, ‘yung mga director namin, magaling ‘yung pagkakasulat ng storya ng First Yaya.
“Nakakapanghinayang kung hanggang dito lang. Sana pagbigyan pa tayo na magkaroon pa ng Book 2,” she said.
When asked about her closeness to her co-star Gabby Concepcion, Lopez said that they just grew fond of each other and that people should not put malice in it.
“Masasabi ko lang po na ‘yung closeness namin na ganun, hindi lang po ako ‘yung ganun. Marami po kami, halos lahat ganoon din po si kuya Gabby sa lahat.
“Napakaganda po ng pagiging magkakaibigan naming lahat sa First Yaya at kung ano man po ‘yung nakikita niyo doon ay ganun lang po kami. Sobrang comfortable lang po talaga namin sa isa’t isa,” said the actress.
Lopez also shared that she and Concepcion have already talked about the issues linking them with each other. They both agreed that they don’t need to be afraid as the romantic rumors about them are not true.
First Yaya premiered on GMA Network on March 15, 2021, and recently aired its last episode on July 2. According to AGB Nielsen Philippines’ Nationwide Urban Television Audience Measurement People in television homes, the final episode of the series received a 19.2% rating.
