The Kapuso actor Ruru Madrid confidently admitted that he deserves his role in Lolong, which he even swam a river that is 30 feet deep to prove he is the perfect person for the role!
Before the lock-in taping of GMA Network’s newest action-adventure series, commenced in a resort in Quezon province, the lead Madrid declared he had tremendous preparations for his upcoming series.
“I didn’t expect na ganito siya kahirap. To be honest, this is the first time na na-feel ko ‘yung ganun na after taping, talagang wala na, kailangan ko na lang itulog kasi sobrang pagod talaga,” Madrid stated that his role is extremely, emotionally challenging and physically draining.
“‘Yung mga scenes ko, most of the time, sobrang heavy drama, mabigat…And then after non, bigla akong lalangoy sa ilog. Lumalangoy ako dito na 30 feet ‘yung lalim nung ilog so kailangan kong languyin ‘yon, sasakay kay Dakila…And then after noon, diretso ako fight scenes na hindi lang basta-basta fight scenes,” Madrid gave an insight as to how demanding his role is.
Dakila is the gigantic 22-foot animatronic and Computer-generated imagery (CGI) crocodile that will be used during the production of Lolong.
“I just want to ibalik sa GMA ‘yung trust na binigay nila sa akin dito sa project na ito…Gusto kong patunay sa kanilang lahat na deserve ko ‘tong role na ‘to,” he promised he will give his best for the success of the project.
Lolong was first announced in 2019, but had a slow start and progress due to the rise of a pandemic. Now, the lock-in taping is temporarily suspended as the third season of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) hits the National Capital Region (NCR).
