Rising Kapuso stars Mavy and Cassy Legaspi are all-set to advance in their respective showbiz careers as they renewed their contracts with GMA Artist Center last Monday, August 16.
Present during the virtual signing ceremony were Executive Vice President and CFO Felipe S. Yalong, GMA Films, Inc. President and Programming Consultant to the Chairman and CEO Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, Senior Vice President for GMA Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable, First Vice President and Head of Regional TV and Synergy Oliver B. Amoroso, First Vice President For Drama Redgie A. Mango, Vice President for Corporate Affairs and Communications Angel Javier Cruz, Senior Assistant Vice President for Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara, Senior Assistant Vice President for Drama Cheryl Ching-Sy, GMA Artist Center Assistant Vice President and Head for Talent Imaging and Marketing Unit Simoun Ferrer, GMA Artist Center consultant Johnny Manahan, GMA Artist Center Senior Talent Manager Vic del Rosario, and Senior Program Managers Ali Marie Nokom-Dedicatoria, Mae Zambrano, Redgynn Alba, and Ruth Marinas.
Coming from a prominent family in the industry, the Legaspi twins know that it has its pros and cons. Despite these, they continue to give their all in every project they get entrusted with and have picked up valuable lessons throughout the years as they carve their names in show business.
According to Mavy, “You’ll really have to learn through the ups and downs in the industry on your own. Even with all the tips, all the stories my parents told me, ako pa rin ‘yung gagawa ng stories and experiences ko. At the end of the day, it’s really you in this battlefield, ikaw ang gagawa ng actions mo and decisions, most especially when you’re on set, on cam or off cam, I learned to be even more independent and diligent sa craft ko.”
Cassy, on the other hand, also shared how she grew in her Kapuso journey, “I’ve learned a lot as an actor and a co-worker. I learned to be more loving, caring, and giving to my co-actors, always checking up on them. I guess treating the workplace as my second home. Being a Kapuso for how many years, the people around you really grow on you, they instantly become family and you get comfortable with them and eventually, the values as a Kapuso, start to show within you.”
Cassy won the hearts of the Filipino viewers as Nina in the top-rating GMA Telebabad series ‘First Yaya.’ Now, it’s Mavy’s time to shine as he is part of the cast of the upcoming primetime series ‘I Left My Heart in Sorsogon.’
Mr. Yalong expressed his delight with the twins’ contract renewal, “We’re so happy that you again signed up with GMA Artist Center. We’d like to also thank your parents for entrusting your career to GMA Artist Center. A lot of projects have been lined up for you and we are excited seeing you doing more of acting and a bit of dancing in the coming years. Congratulations to both of you.”
Atty. Gozon-Valdes looks forward to Mavy and Cassy’s growth in the industry, “Congratulations on your renewal. Thank you very much for trusting us. I’m so excited to see how much more you will grow not just as artists but also as fine human beings. So congratulations, and looking forward to your exciting new projects.”
Rasonable commended the two for their potential as Kapuso actors, “I would also like to thank your parents Zoren and Carmina for entrusting both of you to GMA. You started out just getting your feet wet, it was the agreement with your parents. But after seeing you Cassy in First Yaya and I’ve also heard so much about Mavy in his taping in I Left My Heart in Sorsogon, we are amazed at how you have grown and so proud that we are part of that journey that you are now taking in order to grow in your career. Congratulations and looking forward to all the exciting projects that will come your way.”
Santiago-Lara assured them that the future is looking bright as they progress in their careers, “I just want to say my congratulations to Maverick and Cassy. Congratulations for the past years in GMA and we look forward to working more with you in the future. We’re very excited because we have a lot of plans for you. That you’re growing with GMA and GMA Artist Center. It’s also a pleasure and an honor for us to support your career.”
Finally, Mr. M promised that they will continue to guide Mavy and Cassy into becoming the best versions of themselves, “Congratulations, Cassy and Mavy. I’m sure your parents are so proud of you. I’m so happy also that they brought you up as really nice individuals. Nandito lang kami sa Artist Center if you have any problems or anything you want.”
