Maine Mendoza defended her boyfriend Arjo Atayde after netizens bashed him for not following the quarantine protocol.
Mayor Benjamin Magalong told Regional News Group-RNG Luzon that Atayde tested positive for COVID-19 but still left the city without informing the authorities.
On August 18, Feelmaking Productions Inc. also issued an official statement confirming Atayde tested positive for COVID-19 while shooting for his new movie for the production company in Baguio City.
Atayde then received backlash from the netizens, who noted how irresponsible he is amid the pandemic.
One netizen even called out Mendoza, saying that the actress-host should not tolerate the actions of his boyfriend.
Mendoza then responded, saying that she is not tolerating him and people don’t know the whole story.
Hello! I am not “tolerating” him but there’s just so much you do not know about the story. And I hope he gets the chance to tell his side and the context of what had happened these past few days. I also hope you do not base your judgments solely on what you see online..

She then added, “Because you might just be seeing an angle of the real scenario.”
