John Estrada will join the cast of the longest-running action series, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. He will be the latest addition to the series, which recently announced its extension for another year.
According to entertainment columnist and editor of Pilipino Star Ngayon, Salve Asis, Estrada will have his lock-in taping for the series in Ilocos.
AS of this writing, no disclosure of his role yet. The only detail was that his character is crucial to FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano‘s plot for its next season.
He is a former contract actor of ABS-CBN, where he remained there from 1990 to 2018.
His decision to leave his home network [for 27 years], was supposedly fueled by his rift with Mylene Dizon, his co-star in the 2017 Kapamilya series, The Good Son.
In 2018, Estrada transferred to GMA Network and signed an exclusive contract with GMA Artist Center on May 2.
He last starred in the Kapuso drama revenge series Babawiin Ko ang Lahat, which premiered on February 22, 2021, and concluded on May 21.
Recently, Estrada gained controversy after having a conflict with his close friend Derek Ramsay.
The issue started during his lock-in taping for TV5’s comedy show John en Ellen with Ellen Adarna, Ramsay’s fiancee.
Ramsay declared that he severed his ties with the actor, following Adarna’s complaints against the John en Ellen production.
The unveiling of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’s new logo for the next season occurred on Monday, August 16. Apart from Estrada, Julia Montes will also be Martin’s newest leading lady in the series.
