Seasoned actor Janno Gibbs admitted during the virtual press conference of the movie, August 10, that he had reservations in accepting Vivamax’s 69+1 since it is his most daring role yet.
“Of course, at first I had my reservations dahil medyo sensitive ‘yung material,” said Gibbs.
Since the one directing the film is none other than Darryl Yap, the actor is confident that it will be an awesome movie.
“But the key is Darryl Yap. ‘Pag sinabi mong Darryl Yap, siguradong maganda at siguradong patok,” he emphasized.
Of all the movies he did, Gibbs will have his most daring project via 69+1.
“Kahit matagal na ako sa industry, this is the most daring role that I’ve done,” said the actor.
“Most of the movies I’ve done were comedy, medyo naughty, but eto, mas level up pa.”
He explained that though he still had some reservations, his mindset is that this will be a quality project because of Direk Darryl.
“Ang preparation is mindset na this is going to be a nice movie, it’s sexy comedy. But knowing direk Darryl, with class ang pagkakagawa nito.”
In doing the love scenes, Gibbs once again had doubts. But because the nature of the film is a sex comedy, he became comfortable doing it, not to mention that he had worked with his leading ladies–Maui Taylor and Rose Van Ginkel in the past.
“Of course I had my reservations also. But it helped a lot that one, the love scenes were done in a comedic way because this is a sex comedy. This is not a serious sex movie.
“It made it a little more comfortable. Plus I worked with both ladies and they’re both very professional.”
69+1 is about lesbian couple Ivy (Taylor) and Patricia (Ginkel) who are on their way to their seventh anniversary.
The couple has come up with a way to end their ‘seven-year itch—have a man enter into their relationship.
They agreed to have a throuple—three for a couple, for a year, since they missed the physical aspects of a man.
That is when Gibbs, who plays a photographer Apol comes in. Ivy and Patricia found their desired qualification in Apol but were certain that they could never get attached to him.
Together, they will discover if a polyamorous relationship will work for them or not.
Catch the movie, directed by Darryl Yap, the man behind Paglaki Ko Gusto Kong Maging Pornstar, Ang Babaeng Walang Pakiramdam, Revirginized, and more. 69+1 will be streaming on Vivamax starting on September 3.
