ABC-CBN confirmed that the media giant will produce more short eight-episode and 45-minute projects in partnership with Viu, iqiyi, and iflix to sustain its production of shows in the surge of COVID-19 cases.
The company also ventured into other partnerships with different firms.
The ABS-CBN Entertainment production head Laurenti Dyogi shared about the huge adjustments the company had to make to continue producing shows during the pandemic.
“Alam mo naman, crisis, is a good teacher ‘yan. Talagang diyan ka sinusubok kapag may crisis. We are lucky that we were hit by both the pandemic and the shutdown and forced to really be innovative.
“Since last year, we were in survival mode and with that kailangan tuloy lang ang resilience ng kompanya… aakalain ba namin we will partner with a lot of [companies such as] channel 5 to A2Z [channel], iflix. Andami naming partners ngayon. Nakakatuwa ‘yung mga opportunities na nadidi-discover naming because of what happened to us, to the entire nation, to the entire world.
“Slowly we are getting back, although not the same as before, but we will continue to create content and we will everywhere and anywhere,” Dyogi stated.
Dyogi related how the entertainment industry adapted to the virus, such as implementing lock-in tapings, saying farewell to live studio audiences, and reformatting shows to be appropriate with the safety protocols implemented by the government.
