Lucky Manzano’s wife, Jessy Mendiola, reached a certain point in her life that she does not care if people think that she’s not relevant to the entertainment industry anymore.
In a YouTube interview with Enchong Dee on July 30, Mendiola admitted that people think that she is ‘laos’ and should have other plans in life.
“People still ask me ngayon kung anong plano ko sa life ko kasi and’yan na ang mga words na ‘laos’ or like hindi na nao-offeran.”
Contrary to what other people think, she revealed that during the pandemic, she has had multiple offers.
“But ang totoo n’yan, ever since the pandemic started, maraming offers na talaga.”
However, she values her health more than anything, hence she opted to decline any acting projects during this pandemic.
“But I think it’s more of I value my health more than anything.”
It’s because she feared doing tapings and going to a crowded place because of the threat of Covid-19.
“Ever since nag-start yung pandemic, s’yempre nand’yan yung fear. Nand’yan yung kailangan mong mag-lock in. Nand’yan yung marami kang tao na makakasama.”
Mendiola added that she already reached the point in her life where she is contented in what she is currently doing—making content.
“I feel that nasa point na ako ng life ko na I’m enjoying what I’m doing which is vlogging.”
She is also trying other things in her life that she has not tried yet.
“I’m trying to explore other things in my life. I’m also entering the world of business.”
She realized that she does not need to please everyone at this point in her life.
“I think nando’n na tayo sa point ng buhay natin na hindi na tayo nape-pressure to please everyone. Kasi gano’n naman talaga kapag nagsisimula ‘di ba?”
For now, she is not yet ready to continue her acting career. But it doesn’t mean that she is ‘laos.’
“I don’t think I’m ready to you know… taping talaga na sagaran o kaya yung locked-in.”
Mendiola started her career back in 2004 and got launched by ABS-CBN under Star Magic Batch 15.
She had some appearances in the Kapamilya drama anthology series, Maalala Mo Kaya.
Her first biggest break was back in 2010 where she starred in the Kapamilya afternoon series, Sabel.

In 2015, she played a lead role in the comedy-drama series Must Date a Playboy along with Xian Lim, Kim Chiu, and Matt Evans.
