Seasoned actor Albert Martinez admitted that of all the movies he had done, his character in the upcoming VivaMax film, The Housemaid, was the first-ever ‘minimalist’ role he did.
“First time ako gumawa ng character na, it’s more of the body language, it’s more of his eyes, very minimal lines, pero mararamdaman mo dapat kung ano yung sinasabi o kung ano ang iniisip niya,” revealed Martinez during the film’s virtual press conference, Monday, August 16.
It was indeed a challenging role for him. But the actor, through Direk Roman Perez Jr.’s guidance, was able to pull him off.
“It’s a very challenging role. So, I’m glad that I’ve worked with Direk Roman kasi nga it’s not easy to mold.
“Kung hindi ensemble yung nangyari, it would be hard for me para ma-portray yung ganung klaseng requirement ng material,” the actor shared.
In guiding the inexperienced Kylie Versoza in their steamy scenes, he shared that it is more of a choreography since it involves the two of them working together.
“Well, matagal na naming pinag-usapan yung bawat eksena. Isa s’yang parang sayaw. Mayro’n kaming magandang choreography para eksakto sa punto yung requirement ng material. At the same time, to make the public believe that what we are doing is sincere,” said the actor.
He was glad that he and Versoza did a wonderful job in The Housemaid, revealing that they never had to re-do an intimate scene.
“I’m very happy kasi nakita ko naman yung end product and very successful namin nagawa yung eksena. And to point wherein wala kaming ginawang scene na take two, especially sa mga intimate scenes,” he revealed.
He extended his thanks to Direk Roman and Kylie for doing an excellent job, especially the latter, whom he thought–deserved the project’s success.
“I thank Direk for his guidance [and] I thank Kylie for cooperating.
“Saludo ako [kay] Kylie for what you have done. You have done so much for this project and I believe, you deserve all the honor and success of this project,” said Albert.
The Housemaid tells a story of a maid named Daisy (Versoza) who was offered a large sum of money to take care of William’s (Matinez) and Roxanne’s (Louise Delos Reyes) daughter. She did manage to build a relationship with the children and their parents but that is not all.
Daisy also caught the attention of William which eventually led to a sexual relationship. However, the two must be careful as the ‘mayordoma’ (butler) Ms. Martha (Jaclyn Jose) is becoming suspicious of them.
VivaMax’s newest offering is an adaptation of a South Korean film that was first shown in 1960, then had a remake in 2010, originally titled Hanyo.
Catch The Housemaid on September 10, on VivaMax, KTX, iWant TFC, and TFC IPTV.
