Kapuso viewers will see more of Tom Rodriguez after he confirmed that he is about to sign a new contract with GMA Network.
And this good news brought excitement to the talented actor.
“Yes! Very very excited to say… grabe!” He said during The World Between Us virtual press conference, Thursday, June 24.
He also expressed his gratitude to the Kapuso Network for giving him an opportunity to still showcase his craft as an artist amid this pandemic.
“I can’t really thank GMA enough to think that it’s a time of a pandemic. Na a lot of us have fears and anxiety when it comes to our job security. Na pinapanatag nila yung loob ko, to assure me na they have my back. That these are trying times but they’re still there, I can still feel their presence and love,” added Rodriguez.
Rodriguez is set to sign with GMA Network this coming July 2.
Not only that, his teleserye with Alden Richards and Jasmine Curtis-Smith is also set to premiere in the same month.
In fact, the actor is very much excited for the viewers to finally see what they have been working on. It’s because of how great the series is as a whole. Rodriguez was wowed not only by the show’s story but also by its cast and the characters that they play.
“‘Di lang sa mga pangalan na nakatali sa proyekto. Pero itong project na ‘to mismo ang nakaka-excite. So parang lahat bonus.
“Ang ganda ng script, grabe yung mga kasama ko, yung karakter na gagampanan ko is something talaga na nagpapa-excite sa akin. Pati yung dynamics ng bawat cast. At hindi lang ng cast pati yung karakter na ginagampanan nila.”
The actor even compared this project to a role-playing game like Dungeons and Dragons, where the players bring life to their respective characters.
“Para na ‘tong role-playing game na Dungeons and Dragons, collaborative. Ganun yung pakiramdam ko. Parang may sarili akong Dungeons and Dragons na character,” he added.
The World Between Us is going to replace the high-rater First Yaya on the first slot of GMA Network’s Telebabad lineup.
In the series, Rodriguez will play Emilia “Lia” Libradilla’s (Jasmine) older brother, Bryan. He will be portraying an off-beat character that would help Lia and Luisito “Louie” Asuncion (Alden) prove how powerful love is.
Catch them this coming July, soon on GMA Network.
