Star Magic artist Kiara Takahashi, who recently signed a new contract with the talent management of ABS-CBN, had something good happened to her amid the pandemic.
She discovered that she can host.
Since people are forced to stay at home due to the pandemic, Takahashi had to keep herself occupied.
“Well dahil pandemic, nasa bahay lang. Online work. Kung anong puwedeng magawa sa bahay, parang lahat na naisip mo na,” she revealed in an exclusive interview with LionhearTV.
Fortunately, Star Music had something for her to do—to host Topsilog, a digital show that airs every Sunday.
She learned how to host because of Star Magic, who brought out her untapped hosting skills, which she did not know existed before.
“Feeling ko in this pandemic, mas na-aralan ko ‘yung hosting skills. At hindi ko alam na kaya ko pala! So ‘yun ang nakakatuwa kasi dahil sa management, talagang nailalabas nila kung anuman ang mga nakatago sa mga artists nila,” Kiara pointed.
Since she already has a hosting gig, she is interested to become a TV host in the future. Not only is she interested, but it’s also something she enjoys.
“Of course. Kasi nasimulan ko na siya. At first nga sabi ko, ‘Ay talaga? Ako ang maghu-host ng ganyan?’ Tapos biglang ‘Ah! Na-enjoy ko pala! Okay pala!’
“Di ko alam na okay pala. Pero dahil nga may dumarating na hosting jobs. So I guess okay din pala akong mag-host.”
However, she is not pushing ABS-CBN to give her hosting projects.
The young artist is contented with what the Network has in store for her. But if ever she has to choose, she admits going with hosting.
“Pero in the future, kung ano talaga yung project na ibigay, at kung kaya ko naman talaga, I am willing to learn. Even now, parang mas gusto ko pang mag-workshop sa hosting. Kasi na-enjoy ko siya,” she admitted.
Takahashi also continued vlogging during this pandemic. She recalled the first time, she felt awkward talking all by herself in front of a camera.
“Yes! Hindi siya madalas. Nung una parang na-awkward ako kasi camera lang ang hawak ko. Tapos tuluy-tuloy pa magsalita.”
But because of her fans, and her way to connect with the viewers, she continued vlogging. She will be preparing some content for her loyal supporters.
“Pero dahil sa isa rin ‘yung way para ma-show ko sa mga nag-susupport sa akin, kung anong ginagawa ko in a day.
“At isa rin ‘yun na way na maging connected sa kanilang mga viewers. Nagpa-plano ako actually ng mga content na puwede kong gawin. At hahasain kong magsalita sa camera nang mag-isa.”
In the meantime, Takahashi aims to release more songs this year along with constant uploads for her YouTube channel.
She will also have an acting project soon. But for now, the young talent is busy hosting.
