Kapuso writer Suzette Doctolero knows when to give credit to whom it is due, in this case, ABS-CBN’s Bagman.
In her facebook post on July 24, Doctolero praised the team behind ABS-CBN’s series, Bagman, even encouraging people to watch it.
She wrote: “Netflix’s Bagman. Gritty. Socio-political thriller. Ganda! Please watch it. Kudos to the showrunners, actors, director, and writer/creator.”
The show received positive feedback in Doctolero’s post. Artist Chanel Latorre who was part of the series was glad that the Kapuso writer appreciated their hard work.
She replied, “Yey!!! Glad napanood at nagustuhan nyo po, Ms. Suzette!”
Doctolero then responded by congratulating Latorre for a job well done.
“Maganda sya. Congrats! Maipagmamalaki.”
A netizen then claimed that he was part of Bagman. However, he was not praising it for some unknown reason.
But Doctolero insisted that she will praise a work if it indeed is good.
“‘Pag maganda, pine-praise ko.”
However, she also showed her other side as she continued her reply by writing: “Pero pag [may] mayabang sa kanila, inaaway ko hahahaha.”
This is a typical attitude of Doctolero given the recent issue with Kapamilya director Andoy Ranay.
Doctolero was triggered by Ranay’s “aanhin ang franchise kung basura naman” statement.
Nevertheless, Doctolero’s appreciation for the Kapamilya series is well backed up. Its lead actor, Arjo Atayde, won the best actor at the 2020 Asian Academy Creative Awards for his portrayal in Bagman.
In the meantime, Doctolero’s Legal Wives started airing on July 26 as part of GMA Network’s primetime.
The Kapuso writer is also behind the upcoming Filipino live adaptation of the hit Japanese animé Voltes V: Legacy which is yet to air on the Network.
