Seasoned actress Shamaine Buencamino commended ABS-CBN for not shortchanging when it comes to the safety of their employees despite its shutdown.
During the media conference for the July episodes of Maalaala Mo Kaya, Buencamino lauded ABS-CBN for ensuring their safety in the production.
“I’m just so proud of ABS-CBN. Considering what they went through, they still do not cut corners when it comes to being safe in production.”
She highlighted that ABS-CBN did all of these protocols, despite the lack of finances.
“‘Yung SOP nila talagang nakaka-proud considering there’s not a lot of ads now and they’re not as financially robust like before. Hindi pa rin sila nagtitipid when it comes to the safety and health of their people.”
During the ABS-CBN shutdown, Buencamino continued to work with FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
The production team of the longest-running teleserye pioneered the protocols for the Kapamilya network’s locked-in tapings.
As for her MMK episode, Buencamino is with Iza Calzado and Heaven Peralejo in a mother-daughter story focusing on mental illness, titled, My Two Mothers, directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar, to air on July 24.
She added that this episode tackles an issue that is close to her heart
“Ito kasing episode na ito na ginawa namin bitbit ko. Bitbit ko hanggang ngayon. Ah kasi, the issue is very close to my heart. It’s about mental illness, mental conditions.”
Looking back, ABS-CBN shut down on July 10, 2020, after Congress denied the 25-year franchise application in May of the same year.
