Kapamilya Actress turned businesswoman Shaina Magdayao shared how FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano helped her start her new business, Organized Chicas Lifestyle.
During the media conference for the lifestyle brand, Magdayao recalled how the locked-in filming of the Kapamilya teleserye inspired her to launch her business.
“Since it started with my partner, Nikki Medina. Pareho kasi kaming OC. When we began the taping for Ang Probinsyano, they were very strict na bawal ang plus one. So we had to fix our own things.
“So sabi ko kay Nikki, ‘can you please help me fix my things.’ S’ya ‘yung nag-organize. And then I go, ‘grabe no, gawin kaya nating business ‘to.’ ‘Yung mga bags that I use. That I personally use when I am taping.”
She also highlighted how their lifestyle brand help displaced people amid the pandemic.
“That’s why it all started. It’s also our way of helping people. ‘Yung mga gumagawa ng bags namin in the middle of the pandemic. As we all know, lahat naman ng tao, if not all, most of the people nawalan ng trabaho during the pandemic.
“So, it’s our own little way to give the opportunity to other people who are willing to work for us.”
And as a cherry on top, their business shows promising growth with the expansion of their lifestyle brand.
“And in five months, we are expanding. Now, we are not just a bag line. The clothes I am wearing now are Organized Chicas.
“From a bag line, we are now a lifestyle brand, with everything canvas and linen. And who knows, we might carry cotton in the future.
“We figured since we are already doing bags and people keep asking me what I am wearing all the time.”
Magdayao’s Organized Chicas Lifestyle launched its line in February 2021 alongside her childhood friend, Niki Medina. Their brand follows the saying ‘tidy bag, tidy mind, tidy life,’ which focuses on the perspective of one stylish and pandemic-ready item at a time.
The lifestyle brand also focuses on sustainably created and locally sourced and produced canvas bags, home items, and clothing pieces.
