Director Ricky Davao shared his thoughts about her daughter, Arabella, as part of the ABS-CBN Network.
Questions about Arabella’s plans of entering showbiz have been raised for a while now, and the daughter of Jackielou Blanco shocked the people when she suddenly became a Kapamilya.
In an exclusive interview with Ricky Davao, he revealed that her daughter’s move also shocked him, but he still accepted her decision.
“Nagulat na lang ako na kausap na niya ang [kabilang network], nagwo-workshop na pala siya. Okay lang, I support her.
“Biglaan ang lahat eh. Actually, hindi ko alam na gusto pala niya mag-artista,” he said.
Davao explained that talent managers and other personalities have been scouting Arabella when she was young, but the director said that he didn’t want to force her daughter.
“Noong bata [siya], marami na ang lumalapit. From kuya Germs, Mr. M, Tita Anabelle Rama, at marami pang iba na sinasabi na ‘mag-aartista ba ‘yang anak mo?’
“Hindi naman ako ‘yung tipo na namimilit. Nakatapos na siya ng pag-aaral ngayon, naka-graduate na siya sa college sa Ateneo,” he said.
He noted that now that her daughter already graduated college, she has the right to choose her path.
Davao previously lectured his daughter about being an artist. He said that the career path would not be easy, and the showbiz industry will be full of challenges.
“Ang pag-aartista hindi ganun kadali ‘yan. Lalo na ngayong meron tayong social media. Baka mas madali kang makilala, pero baka mas lalong madali ka lang masira,” he said.
Meanwhile, Arabella previously explained the roles that her parents had in her decision to pursue showbiz.
She said that her parents contributed to her decision to pursue such a career since her father is an actor and a director, while her mother is an actress.
Seeing them in their element really impacted her decision-making in terms of what career she should take.
