John Lloyd Cruz was seen meeting with ABS-CBN President and Chief Executive Officer Carlo L. Katigbak after being welcomed to GMA Network.
He was accompanied by his manager Marilen Nuñez, a known events organizer who runs Crown Artist Management (CAM), John Lloyd’s new agency.
On her Instagram Story, Marilen shared a photo taken from their meeting.
Is John Lloyd Cruz up for a project with ABS-CBN?
This has been the hot topic discussed among the actor’s avid fans now.
Before these rumors emerged, John Lloyd was first suspected of having his showbiz come back in GMA Network after years of hiatus.
In June 2021, Willie Revillame had him as a guest for a live event of an online shopping app. This was also when Willie talked about producing a Kapuso sitcom to be headed by John Lloyd and Kapuso actress Andrea Torres.
In the same month, John Lloyd met GMA executives Annette Gozon-Abrogar, the president of GMA Films and the programming consultant of the network, and Jose Mari “Joey” Abacan, GMA Network’s Vice President for Program Management.
No details were disclosed; however, they may have discussed the actor’s project with the Kapuso network during the meeting.
Following John Lloyd’s short introduction to the GMA Network, the actor now only needs to sign a contract to become an official Kapuso.
When asked about John Lloyd’s exclusive contract with the Kapuso network, Annette answered that they are presently considering things.
“Let’s see. Siyempre, after so long na ABS siya and Kapamilya siya, now he’s going to appear on GMA. I think he’s also taking things slow.
“Iyong hindi naman biglaan. But we want to make him feel very welcome with us and comfortable enough to consider that in the future,” she said.
His former love team partner in ABS-CBN, Bea Alonzo, had inked an exclusive network contract with GMA Network on July 1, 2021.
John Lloyd is supposed to star in a movie alongside Bea under ABS-CBN’s Star Cinema. He also has a pending film titled Servando Magdama with Lav Diaz as the director.
