Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo, the multi-awarded actress and TV host, realized during the toughest days of her life as a Kapamilya when ABS-CBN shut down.
In times of crisis, according to her, one will truly find the people whom one can count on. These are the ones who will stay and help one stand up, be strong, and push one to go forward.
“Dun nahiwalay yung dekolor sa puti. Sa nangyari sa ABS. nakita mo ang kulay ng mga tao. May nakakalungkot, nakakabigla, nakakamangha,” the actress revealed.
“Pero ang anchor mo na lang is yourself. Inangklahan ko asawa ko, inangklahan ko sarili ko, inangklahan ko ang Diyos na matatapos din ito,” she continued.
Santos-Agoncillo admitted that during the darkest times of ABS-CBN when it lost its franchise, she was in deep sorrow knowing that her home is facing serious challenges.Â
It was dated that the last official airing day of ABS-CBN was on May 4, 2020.Â
The actress shared her story on how she felt about the situation. At first, she was in denial of the thought that it actually happened.
“Parang medyo nakakatulala at some point. So ano na? Ano na ang mangyayari?” she inquired.
“Ako mismo nagtatanong sa sarili ko ‘nung first part ng pandemic, ‘Bising-busy ka ba Juday? Bakit parang pagod na pagod ka?”Â
Thanks to her husband and their children, she realized that the value of these people serves as her strength to go on despite everything.
“I guess, malaking factor na Ryan was talking to me and asking me if I’m okay. Akala ko kasi nung una, okay lang ako with the closure of ABS, the pandemic, everything.”
“Everything is okay. Naglalaro kami ng mga bata, lutu-lutuan kami. Tatanungin ko sila kung ano pwede lutuin for the day. Gawa ako ng, let’s say, Chinese night,” Juday shared her coping strategies.
Meanwhile, the actress-TV host was asked about her plans on transferring to other networks now that the ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal is still uncertain.Â
Despite her past issues and controversies with ABS-CBN about her transferring to another station, Juday made her stand.
“Ay honestly, safe to say, wala naman. Though alam kong may nagtatanong kung may mga artist na gustong lumipat.
“Pero walang nakarating sa akin, specifically if I wanted to transfer. Safe naman ako diyan!” she explained.
She is still hopeful that one day, ABS-CBN will have its comeback with its new franchise.
“I am just hoping that one day ABS-CBN will be back and it will be a better comeback. And it’s for the good of everyone. Everything happens for a reason.”Â
Optimistic of the franchise renewal, the actress-TV host said that she will wait for the next chapter of ABS-CBN once it will come back with new stories.
“Hihintayin ko na lang yung next textbook sa pagbubukas ng ABS-CBN.”
