Actress and World Vision Ambassador Jasmine Curtis-Smith shared her thoughts on the importance of face-to-face setting classes.
During the media conference for World Vision’s Back-To-School campaign, Curtis-Smith shared how a face-to-face class setting help in a child’s growth.
“There are skills din kasi na nabi-build natin as human beings kapag nae-expose tayo sa mga ganong environment. I think ‘yun ‘yung important factor ng face-to-face setting, na sana ma-experience ulit ng mga bata.”
She also related her personal experience in a formal school setting and how it differentiates from online classes.
“Kailan lang naman ako natapos sa pag-aaral, in terms of a formal school setting. So one thing to be in a setting like that, ‘yung pagka-miss ng mga bata na makipag interact.
“Makita ‘yung mga kaklase nila. Makahalubilo. You know to be physically present with each other. Is something na I know for sure, namimiss ng mga batang ito.”
Curtis-Smith then shared that her family inspired her to support the cause of World Vision.
“Family on its own makes me really inspired, my experience of having access to education. And to be able to share what knowledge I got from that. And, the skills I built or garnered from my education, I want the same for everyone.
“I want the same for all the children that I encounter or may not even encounter in my lifetime. Pero sana, we are able to raise to that same standard for everyone.”
Curtis-Smith recently donated 1,500 children’s books to World Vision to educate kids on the proper and secure use of the internet. The donated books will go to at least a thousand children in Malabon.
Aside from World Vision’s Back-To-School Campaign, she also supported other causes of the organization.
“Actually, lahat naman po ng campaigns ng World Vision. Kung kaya ko pong maging present and to be vocal about it I do my best to be there and to support po.”
As for her career, Curtis-Smith currently stars in the GMA Network Teleserye A World Between Us, alongside Alden Richards and Tom Rodriguez. Their teleserye airs weeknights on GMA Telebabad.
