Kapuso actress and social media influencer LJ Reyes has made it official that she plans to stay as a Kapuso. However, how important is the GMA Network contract renewal to the actress?
In the media conference for her contract renewal this June 29, Reyes expressed that the contract renewal made her feel that she has a family GMA Network.
“Isa to siguro sa mga mapanghahawakan mo that you have. Kasi, I’ve been with GMA for a long time. At naramdaman ko talaga with all sincerity that they have been a family to me. As a whole and also as individuals, those who are under GMA.”
The contract renewal also gave Reyes a sense of security in her career with the Kapuso Network.
“Naramdaman ko talaga na may pamilya ako with GMA and in very uncertain times, when you know that your family is there for you, holding on to you. There’s a sense of security.”
She then added that GMA Network helped her grow as an artist and a person.
“They’re very supportive. It meant a lot for me as an individual and as a person. Hindi naman ako maggo-grow in my craft if I don’t grow as an individual and as a person.
“Ang laki-laki ng minature ko with GMA and doon naman talaga ako proud na hindi lang ako basta artista. I am LJ as a person. And they helped shape LJ.”
However, Reyes admitted that she felt worried about not getting renewed as an artist.
“Mayroon, mayroon konting paano kung hindi. Mag-iisip ka rin na, ‘Paano, ano nang work ang gagawin ko? Saan ako pupunta? Or ano nang magiging plano ko?'”
And now, thanks to her contract renewal, she feels excited to do more meaningful projects with GMA Network.
“I’m very grateful na it’s a long time to be in the business. I still wish to do more years here. And to do more meaningful projects. I’m very grateful. I’m looking forward to working for GMA in more years to come.”
Reyes began her career with GMA Network in 2004 during her stint in Starstruck. From then on, she became a Kapuso for almost 17 years now.
Reyes starred in various Kapuso projects such as The Cure, Sherlock Jr. Pinulot Ka Lang sa Lupa, and Poor Señorita. Aside from her projects with the network, she also bagged a Gawad Urian Best Actress Award for Anino Sa Likod ng Buwan in 2016.
