Newest Kapuso talent Gabrielle Hahn admitted that she actually had no idea how she can enter show business at all.
At a very young age, Hahn knew that she wanted to be in the entertainment industry. She already pictured herself on television. However, without a talent manager who would guide her, she never had the opportunity to do so.
“I’ve always loved theater as young as 3 years old. But I never really had a manager. So although I always wanted to be on TV, gustong-gusto kong maging artista. Never akong nabigyan ng opportunity kasi I just didn’t know what to do,“ she admitted during the Fresh Young Peeps (FYP) virtual press conference, Friday, June 25.
Hahn even recalled that she used to send e-mails of her audition tapes to different networks. But, she did not get a single reply from any of them.
“I did not know what to do to the point na when I was in college nagi-email ako and walang nagre-reply. I remember being 15, 16, 17, gusto kong maging model, gusto kong maging artista. Here is my picture, here’s my audition video, pero wala talaga.
At that age, she found out that she needed the help of a talent agency first. So before reaching where she is now, Hahn first became a model. The young artist then found a talent manager where she landed her first-ever TV commercial.
“So yun, I found an agent naman who was able to represent me. And this agent of mine got my first commercial. Tapos after nun sunod-sunod na. Two months later I got an audition from GMA and here I am.”
But the hardship of Hahn did not end there after getting an invitation from GMA Network for an audition. She actually had to audition three times before they finally accepted her.
“I did a lot of auditions nun. And finally, I was able to get an audition with GMA. Kapuso na talaga ako as in GMA lang talaga. Three auditions and thank God, nagustuhan nila ako. Kasi I know na one-in-a-billion to,” she added.
And now that she is a Kapuso, finally an artist, Hahn is determined to gain popularity. Her reason is that “I would like to gain popularity and make a name for myself. So that I can use my popularity, my fame, as a platform to spread awareness on how the people, uplift people in any way possible, AND promote gender equality.
“By spreading awareness on environmental protection, by promoting not just gender equality but also to uplift people. I would like to be the voice that would help people in any way I can. To be the voice of those that cannot be heard.”
The 26-year-old Kapuso talent also considers this dream job of hers as a responsibility, to be a good role model for the youth.
“I know na it’s more of a responsibility to gain that much popularity from showbiz. You are given a responsibility not you can’t act in a way that people… like you just want to set a good standard for all the young children.
“It is my job. So it has to go hand-in-hand for me. I have to be responsible in doing my job,” she explained.
Along with Gabrielle Hahn, GMA Network is also going to introduce in the “FYP” segment of “All-Out Sundays” (AOS) are Michael V.’s daughter, Brianna Bunagan, Mitzi Josh, Pamela Prinster, and Niño Muhlach’s son, Sandro.
