FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano (FPJAP) is staying true to its theme right now which is ‘Tuloy ang Laban’ as it gets extended despite Angel Aquino’s previous revelation that the show is already on its ‘ultimate last lock-in.’
On May 17, Aquino said in a G3 San Diego’s #LiveWithG3 interview that FPJAP has already started its ‘ultimate lock-in’ though she did not specify when.
“Lahat kami, naka-ending mode na but we still don’t know if ABS will decide to extend the show.”
Two months since Aquino made the statement, the Kapamilya show that has been running for six years continues to air new episodes and has shown no signs of bowing down or having its curtain call.
It is because of the support from Kapamilya viewers after it became huge in terms of its online presence. FPJAP’s series of episodes even reached record-breaking concurrent views.
Despite being franchise-less for over a year already, FPJAP continues to appeal to the masses, as it reaches a million views per episode.
Furthermore, even though the Kapamilya Network is being limited on free TV as they can only broadcast FPJAP and their other shows on A2Z, TV5, cable, and Kapamilya Channel, the action-packed teleserye continues to earn high TV ratings.
On July 13, FPJAP remained competitive in terms of TV rating as it tallied an 11% against the newest Kapuso show, The World Between Us, which got 12.9%, only a 1.9% difference, according to an AGB Nielsen NUTAM survey.
But as early as June, it already cemented its position as the top 4 in terms of TV ratings. On June 28 it received a rating of 11.0%.
Although it was not as strong as its June 14 rating of 11.2%, it is still enough to be considered as the fourth most-watched weekday program on television.
Along with its excellent performance both on free TV, cable, and online, FPJAP continues to gather support from advertisers as it is now beaming with advertisements and sponsors.
ABS-CBN is not keen on stopping the longest-running TV series just yet. It is evident with the show’s ongoing story that FJPAP is far from being finished.
FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano began airing on September 28, 2015, on ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida.
