Kapuso director L.A. Madridejos reminisce how the late director Wenn V. Deramas reacted to his detractors after Kapamilya director Andoy Ranay claimed that ABS-CBN’s shows are of “world-class”.
On his Facebook post, Madridejos said: “Naalala ko nung nabubuhay pa si direk Wenn, maraming nagsasabi na ‘basura’ ang mga pelikulang gawa n’ya. Tinanong ko s’ya kung anong reaction n’ya dito.
“Sabi n’ya, ang nagsasabi na basura yung gawa n’ya eh yung mga taong hindi makagawa ng gawa nya. So ang ending, lalaitin nalang nila. Ang importante daw kay direk Wenn, sigurado s’yang marami s’yang viewers na napapasaya… at madalas kumita ng more than 100M ang mga pelikula nya.
“Sabi pa nya, hindi daw n’ya kailangan manlait ng gawa ng iba para patunayan na mahusay sya. Lalo na at maliit lang ang industriya namin. Pero marami din syang inokray ng patago. Haha.
Naalala ko lang. namiss kita direk Wenn.”
Other artists also shared how grateful to have worked or even saw Deramas’s works.
“Korek ka d’yan direk L.A. Madridejos. At sigurado natutuwa s’ya sa’yo ngayon. I miss you direk Wenn,” commented comedian Atakstar Araña.
Joey Paras even said: “Direk Wenn is .”
Boom Labrusca also sent heart emojis in support of Madridejos’s post.
Actress Gladys Reyes even shared how she was Direk Deramas’s “adopted child”.
“I will always be direk Wenn’s adopted! Si Clau ung tunay na anak.”
Another actress, Nikki Valdes missed being insulted by Deramas. For her, it was his way of showing love.
“Pero pag tayo ang nilait niya, tanggapin natin yun kasi form of love niya yun. Haha! Haaaaayyyy Direk Wenn, nakakamiss ka sobra,” commented Valdes.
Lauren Young also wrote, “Nakakamiss” as she misses the late film director.
Kapuso fellow employees also commented on the post of Madridejos.
Frasco Mortiz, a former Kapamilya director now with GMA Network, agreed with Madridejos’s post saying, “So true.”
Kapuso screenwriter Suzette Doctolero also admired the works of Deramas. She said, “Gusto ko ang mga gawa niya. Nakakatawa talaga. Aliw. Walang pagpapanggap.”
Doctolero also added that she used to watch Vice Ganda movies back when the late director was the one directing the movies of the Kapamilya comedian.
“Nung siya ang direktor ng mga Vice Ganda na movies ay sobrang nakakatawa talaga. Kaya napanood ko lahat nung si Wenn pa ang director,” she added.
Meanwhile, R.J. Nuevas, a Kapuso film and TV writer, commented, “Patama ba ito kay…hehe.”
To which Madridejos clarified that he was just hurt by the claim of a certain person.
“Sir RJ haha. Nasaktan lang po para sa network na nagbigay sakin ng chance,” he replied.
This comment from Nuevas also received a reply from Doctolero as she also ranted about the person who claimed that ABS-CBN produces world-class quality content.
“Masakit naman talaga. Kaya tumalak din ako haha.”
Richard Dode Cruz, a GMA Network head writer advised Madridejos to not care about what that person has said.
“Go direk!!! Thanks for this! Di na need patulan ang feeling “world-class” na self-proclaimed naman haha.”
