Celebrity couple Diego Loyzaga and Barbie Imperial went through something intense recently.
In an interview , the actor revealed that he tested positive for COVID-19 and his girlfriend, Imperial.
Imperial was the first to have the virus, and Loyzaga caught it while taking care of her when she was sick.
“I was there with her. Pareho po kaming nagkaroon.
“Hindi namin alam nung time na ‘yun. She was with me and I was taking care of her. Nag pa-test s’ya, RT-PCR, and it came out positive. So [I said] ‘I might as well take a test din,'” Loyzaga said.
The 26-year-old actor explained that he was asymptomatic and that he recovered from it in less than two weeks.
“I think lang mas naging malakas ‘yung resistence ko sa kanya, kase it didn’t last long with me. I didn’t feel anything I was aymptomatic. Wala po akong naramdaman and wala pang 2 weeks, ilang days lang po sa akin, I tested negative already,” he said.
He said that his girlfriend also recovered from the virus.
“She was okay. She got better. She’s strong.”
When asked about his experience in testing positive for the virus, Loyzaga said that his symptoms were nothing like those of the people around the world who continue to struggle with the virus.
“It wasn’t as difficult as other people are experiencing around the world so I don’t want to make light of it. ‘Yung pinagdaanan namin wasn’t that bad, thank God.
“Pero the virus itself is still not a joke kasi there are people dying all around the world because of it,” he said.
Loyzaga and Imperial confirmed dating rumors in January 2021, when the actor posted a photo of them together in a romantic embrace.

Dating rumors between them started around November when Loyzaga commented on Barbie’s bikini photo on Instagram.
Meanwhile, he recently said that he was inspired to be a better person to his girlfriend following Ara Mina’s wedding.
“Kailangan ko nang galingan, bilisan, at tuloy-tuloy pa para someday soon kami naman ‘yung [makasal],” he said.
