Arabella Davao, daughter of Ricky Davao and Jackie Lou Blanco, recently signed with Star Magic for one particular reason: childhood dream.
Ever since she was young, Arabella wanted to be a part of Star Magic. And on a special day, when ABS-CBN aims to go global through Star Magic’s Black Pen Day on June 19, the young artist finally had her dream come true.
And although she was nervous during the big event, she felt grateful for ABS-CBN for making her dream a reality.
“Well, that day, may kaba pa rin. Na baka matapilok ako or something. Syempre dahil matagal akong walang big event. Yun, kaba and at the same time, sobrang grateful kasi childhood dream ko na talaga ang maging part ng Star Magic,” Arabella said during an interview with LionhearTV.
And now that she is an official Star Magic artist, Arabella, who prefers to be called, “Ara”, is ready to take on challenging roles to prove that she has what it takes to become an actress.
“Siguro na makitang kaya ko ang mga challenging roles na ibibigay sa akin. Kasi wala pa akong taping na mahaba or teleserye, or movie. Gusto ko rin mapatunayan sa sarili ko na kaya ko ang mga challenging roles at kung ano mang ibibigay.”
The young talent is also aiming to be the next Toni Gonzaga. In fact, her dream role is similar to Toni’s character in her movie, Starting Over Again: by playing a character in romantic-comedy projects.
“Peg ko si Toni Gonzaga. Kasi galing siya sa drama (at comedy). Siguro specific role, yung si Toni Gonzaga sa Starting Over Again. Yun yung gusto ko na peg,” Arabella hoped.
She is also open to the possibility if ever ABS-CBN decides to give her an on-screen partner. But who would she like to be paired with?
Well, Arabella admitted that Kapamilya actor Joshua Garcia has always been his biggest idol in acting. Not to mention he is also her showbiz crush.
“For now, si Joshua Garcia talaga. Pero madami akong idols. It’s just that siguro sa acting, lagi akong humahanga sa kanya,” revealed the young artist.
Other than acting, Ara is also aiming to improve her dancing skills and showcase her talent in hosting.
“Siguro dancing. Kasi nag-dance ako sa school. Pero hindi ako sobrang galing. Medyo awkward ako. Pero siguro yung simpleng dance pa, gusto ko pang ma-improve.
“And then nung pandemic nagsimula akong mag-stream sa Kumu. Tapos parang na-discover na masaya rin pala ang hosting.”
In the meantime, Ara is busy with her live streams on Kumu. But her fans can get updated on her upcoming projects through her Facebook and Instagram.
Arabella is among the newly-acquired artists of ABS-CBN during its Star Magic Black Pen Day. This includes fresh new faces such as Kaila Estrada, Mary Joy Apostol, Zabel Lamberth, Rans Rifol, Vance Larena, Maureen Wrob, Paolo Gumabao, Luis Vera-Perez, Sela, Migo Manikan, Vitto Neri, and Jake Ejercito.
