The two most-watched TV networks in the Philippines, ABS-CBN and GMA Network, continue to battle it out on who has the best primetime shows.
Coming out this week, the Kapuso Network has two teleseryes in their primetime lineup. Starting at 8 p.m., The World Between Us, a drama romance series starring Alden Richards and Jasmine Curtis-Smith is followed by the newest family drama show Legal Wives, featuring Dennis Trillo, Alice Dixson, Andrea Torres, and Bianca Umali.
The network also has the re-run of its hit 2010 show, Endless Love at 9:35 p.m. that starred Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera.
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN still has the longest-running action-packed series, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, the drama series Huwag Kang Mangamba led by the Gold Squad (Andrea Brillantes, Francine Diaz, Kyle Echarri, and Seth Fedelin), and the drama romance series Init sa Magdamag starring Gerald Anderson, Yam Concepcion, and JM De Guzman, which were all in the same time slot.
ABS-CBN’s shows are also seen on TV5, Kapamilya Channel (on cable only) and A2Z, with the Kapatid Network having Salvador and Noel Comia Jr.’s Niña Niño at 7:15 p.m.
In terms of rating, based on AGB Nielsen’s NUTAM survey on July 22, the show led by Alden and Jasmin tallied a 13.6% rating, followed by the Kapuso re-run Endless Love at 11.1%.
ABS-CBN’s FPJAP meanwhile had a rating of 10.5%, Huwag Kang Mangamba at 6.2%, and Init sa Magdamag at 4.3%.
Maja Salvador’s show on TV5 currently has a rating of 4.1%.
Meanwhile, the addition of the upcoming Legal Wives on GMA Network’s primetime lineup would change how the ratings would go as it is one of the most-anticipated shows that the Kapuso Network has to offer this year.
