Will the move of different celebrities from one network to another marks the end of the rivalry between TV networks?
Recently, Pokwang gladly announced that she is back to work. Her selfie inside a suspected GMA Network dressing room sparked beliefs that she finally moved to the said network.
However, there is still no confirmation about this.
Willie Revillame also revealed that they are cooking a project for John Lloyd Cruz, marking the comeback of the Kapamilya star after showbiz hiatus. Revillame is also rumored to be negotiating with Piolo Pascual.
GMA Network board director Annette Gozon-Valdes likewise confirmed talks with Bea Alonzo.
“Let’s see kasi di ba we have a movie with her to be co-produced with Viva and APT, siya at si Alden Richards.”
Beauty Gonzales also officially moved to GMA Network.
With the transfer of Kapamilya stars to GMA Network, columnist Lolit Solis said that this will give the audience a new flavor for programming.
“Bongga ngayon ang mga combination na puwede gawin , may bago timpla na mapapanuod ang tao, at maiiba na ang on screen chemistry dahil may mga bagong team na makikita.
“Maganda ang mga pangyayari , sana laging ganyan, puwede gumawa anytime ang taga ABS-CBN sa GMA.”
Solis also believes that the current generation is picky in terms of content. Due to the existing online platforms that also offer quality programs, TV networks should focus on creating fresh content for the viewers.
“Mahigpit ang labanan ngayon lalo pa nga at hindi mo mahuli kung ano talaga ang gusto ng viewers. Madali sila magsawa, madali mawala interest.
“Marami ang pinagpipilian, meron social media, Netflix, HBO, cable at kung anu-ano pa. Dapat talaga exciting sa kanila para makuha mo kiliti nila.”
She also suggested mixing-up pairings of celebrities to achieve the formula that viewers want.
“Hindi mo na rin alam kung umaandar pa sng star system, o kahit ito pinagsawaan na nila. So better experiment with new teams, stories, partnership. Mabalik man lang ang interest nila uli sa showbiz.”
Solis then wished that this will mark the end of Network rivalry where celebrities will not be bothered about their network affiliation so they can focus on the opportunities available.
“Welcome Kapuso, Kapatid, Kapamilya. Halo-halo na, wala ng kanya-kanyang bakod, trabaho na lang ang harapin. Wala ng network war.”

Because of the shutdown of ABS-CBN, it shelved some of its programs and projects. Also, it was forced to lay off most of its workers, including celebrities. With this, many Kapamilya celebrities ventured to another network.
