Showbiz royalty Alessandro “Sandro” Muhlach recalled how he and his father were reunited after being apart from each other for almost three years.
Back in December 2008, Sandro’s father, Niño Muhlach, appealed to the media to help him find his son, Sandro, claiming that his ex-wife, Edith Millare, is hiding their son.
Sandro, on Friday, June 25, shed some light on his father’s claim, clarifying that he was in Iloilo with his mother.
“Tinago ako ng mom ko sa Iloilo. Pero, I think that’s just for two or three years,” revealed the young artist in the virtual press conference for “Fresh Young Peeps” (FYP).
Eventually, Niño found his son. Sandro was in elementary when his dad finally had the chance to see him.
“Nahanap ako ng dad ko noong grade 1 ako. Pumunta siya sa school ko and doon ko lang siya ulit nakita.”
Starting from staying for the weekends, Sandro then stayed with his father when he was in grade 8. He, along with his father, his new step-mom, Diane Tupaz, and half-brother Alonzo, are living together up until now.
“Every weekends pumupunta ako sa daddy ko. Until nung grade 8 ako, lumipat na ako sa bahay ng daddy ko. Nag-school na ako malapit kay papa. At dun na nag-start na magkasama kami ng daddy ko,” he added.
When asked about the whereabouts of his mother, Edith, Sandro revealed that she is in America, and has a family there.
“Yung mom ko kasi nasa States na at may iba na akong kapatid dun,” he answered.
In the meantime, the young Muhlach is following his father’s footsteps as an actor, now a talent of GMA Network.
But the newbie artist cannot deny the fact that he is pressured because of his surname. It’s because his dad and his uncle, Aga Muhlach, have achieved so much in the industry. Nevertheless, Sandro knows that he has to step away from their shadows and become an actor through his sheer talents.
“Yes, there’s a lot of pressure talaga. Siyempre Niño Muhlach, Aga Muhlach. Yun ang kailangan kong mga pantayan. Pero, I learned how to differentiate myself from them.
“Ayokong makilala just for the sake of being a Muhlach. Gusto kong makilala being Sandro Muhlach. Hindi yung parang sumikat lang dahil anak ni Niño Muhlach. Ayoko ng ganun. Gusto ko dahil sa pure talent ko lang.”
Being part of FYP, and starting his showbiz journey, Sandro shared what his father advised him, based on his countless years of experience in the industry. According to his dad, he must stay humble and always be kind to the people around him. Since his career is in the showbiz industry, one little mistake may ruin what he had worked hard for.
“Bilin ng daddy ko is just be humble sa lahat ng taong makakasalamuha ko. And be kind sa lahat ng tagahanga ko…Kasi kaunting tsismis lang, masisira ka na.”
For now, Sandro will be appearing in Fresh Young Peeps, the newest segment of All-Out Sundays. Together with Michael V’s daughter, Brianna Bunagan, Pamela Prinster, Mitzi Josh, and Gabrielle Hahn, they are the first batch of the newly acquired talents of the Kapuso Network. Starting this coming Sunday, watch them as they will be showcasing their talents in the said show.
