Kapuso actor Richard Yap and his family are excited to have the Kapuso Queen of Collaborations as her leading lady in an upcoming teleserye under GMA Network.
“Of course it is such an honor. Kasi yung family ko they’re fans of Heart. So we’re really looking forward to doing this teleserye with her,” admitted Yap during a virtual press conference, Wednesday (June 16).
However, both Yap and Evangelista have not met each other and it will be their first meeting next week in the show’s storycon.
“Hindi pa kami nagkikita ni Heart. Yung storycon namin happening next week at dun palang kami magkikita.”
Meanwhile, Yap, who was from ABS-CBN is enjoying his stay as a Kapuso.
“Masaya naman ako na andito ako ngayon,” he expressed.
The actor rose to fame during his role as Sir Chief in the Kapamilya teleserye, Please Be Careful With My Heart along with Jodi Sta. Maria.
From then on, he had a lot of similar roles such as his first show. This time, in his upcoming TV series, I Left My Heart in Sorsogon with Evangelista, the actor found that there is indeed a similarity with his previous roles. However, he hinted that there are “perks” from this new role of his.
Despite being molded to be a father-type of role, Yap revealed that his dream characters to play were action-packed, similar to James Bond movies and Taken.
“I always wanted a role na parang Taken ni Liam Nielson or James Bond na mga movies. Yun talaga ang siguro dream role ko,” said the actor.
But Yap is not one picky actor. Any role given to him would suffice.
“Wala naman tayong pili. Kahit anong role ibibigay satin okay lang sakin,” he added.
Yap also shared how he spends his time whenever he has it. Apparently, though he takes a break from the camera, Yap is still a busy person, managing the businesses he owns.
“I manage a business, a furniture business. We also have a restaurant business with my partners. So yun ang pinagkaka-busyhan ko. Because I have to take care of my office, ‘yung marketing.
“I handle more of the furniture business. And the rest of my time, I have to spend it flying back between Manila and Cebu. Because I am renovating our condo in Cebu. At magbubukas din kami dito ng business sa Cebu,” shared the actor.
In the meantime, Yap has started his home quarantine in preparation for the locked-in taping of his upcoming teleserye I Left My Heart in Sorsogon. They are set to start taping in the first week of July.
