ABS-CBN Music Creative Director Jonathan Manalo said that ABS-CBN and 7K Sounds Partnership aims to help Pinoy talent penetrate the global market.
In the virtual media launch of ABS-CBN and 7K Sounds, Manalo shared ABS-CBN’s goal of introducing Pinoy talent to the global market.
Manalo also said that 7K Sounds has a similar goal as ABS-CBN.
“Ang pinaka main goal nga ng 7K is to showcase that Filipino sound. Dapat talaga ‘yung tunog ng Pinoy na mai-export natin to the global stage. Very fitting nga, ‘yung name pa lang ng label. 7K, we are 7K islands composed of many, many talented Filipinos.”
During the launch event, 7K sounds also introduced three of their featured artists: singer-songwriter LA Santos, rapper Big J, and R&B/ soul singer Iman.
Santos said that he wanted to share the love and support he received from his mom to new artists through their music label.
I want to share the love that she gave me to the new artist that we have today. Kaya ‘yun po ‘yung natutunan ko. I want to share the love and help the new artists po na hinahanap po ‘yung tunog nila.”
As for Iman, she shared the story behind her first single with 7K Sounds.
“So, Black Out is all about a girl in sort of a relationship. Going back and forth with her partner. I feel like a lot of people my age don’t do that, especially in relationships. So, I’m going to dig deep into that and express it through the music.”
As for rapper Big J, he recalled how he fell in love with rap while highlighting Filipino talent.Â
