Maris Racal revealed that she is not bothered by the 25-year age gap with her boyfriend Rico Blanco.
Racal is currently 23 years old while Blanco is already 48 years old.
In a virtual interview with ABS-CBN for the launching of her new music video called Ate Sandali, Racal said that her relationship with Blanco is just a normal relationship.
Racal said even though other people might have a lot to say about their age gap, the singer-songwriter noted that she and Blanco don’t mind it.
“In their world, people may have opinions about age gap and relationships, but regarding the issue of age, we’re okay, ‘di kasi kami naba-bother,” she said.
She also said that her mother was able to accept her relationship with Blanco along with most of the people.
“I told my mom about it, she was first on my list. Surprisingly naintindihan niya!.”
About her relationship with Blanco, Racal said that the former vocalist of Rivermaya helps her grow as a singer.
She also said that even though they are in a relationship, there are still boundaries that they observe with each other’s careers.
“Nahanap ko siya at the right time na marami na akong nagawang songs.
“He really helps me, in songwriting, music video, guiding me about the right time to release my songs, but at the same time he does not overstep.
“In the studio, for instance, he just lets me write and finish the song. We respect our boundaries. We have that line that we follow,” said Racal.
Blanco and Racal stirred dating rumors after the latter posted a video of them together singing on her Instagram account.
They recently admitted their relationship to the public and said that they are excited about their future music collaboration.
Racal’s latest single Ate Sandali is produced by Rico Blanco. It is the first single from her upcoming mini-album under Balcony Entertainment.
Blanco currently runs the record label, Balcony Entertainment. He also produced Racal’s 2020 songs Not for Me and Kahit Na Anong Sablay.
