In celebration of Pride Month, RAWR Nation invited the fourth placer of Your Face Sounds Familiar, iDolls. Lucas Garcia, Enzo Almario, and Matty Juniosa participated in what most in the LGBTQIA+ community know as Miss Gay Lotto.
Here is how it went.
Introductions.
iDolls members introduced themselves similar to how Miss Gay candidates present themselves through quick and witty humor.
First up, was Garcia with his clever intro.
“Ariba! My Name is Angel Garcia at naniniwala po ako sa kasabihang, aanhin mo ang taong ika’y mahal na mahal, kung ang bibig nito’y amo’y Samgyupsal. Maraming salamat po.”
Next was Almaro, who admittedly didn’t have the same spunk as Lucas during the introduction.
“My name is Enzo Almario, ang inyong lalaking bagay, and welcome back sa aming channel. Nag-vlog na lang.
“Pag-wala kang maisip na intro-Ipasa mo na lang sa susunod.”
Then, Juniosa capped it off with an eloquent and witty intro.
“Good Evening Metro and Mega Manila, standing in front of you is a 22-year-old soon to be 23 on July 30 1998, 2021 pala ang birthday ko. But I believe in the saying that if you believe the children are our future, you are Whitney Houston. If you /believe you can fly, you are a bird.”
Question and Answer Round 1.
In the Question and Answer Portion of the impromptu pageant, the host asked three questions pulled from different pageants.
However, the host decided the winner via draw lots.
For the first round, Lucas received the question, “Why should you lead your group?”
Garcia answered in jest, “Thank you for that beautiful question, ladies in gentlemen. I believe that we people have their own perception, and views and opinions on every question /that’s given to us. So the question is, why should I lead the group? Why should I? Thank you!”
For Enzo, he received the question, “What makes you stand out from the other two iDolls?”
He answered, “I think what make stand out from these two iDolls is when I stand up. Eme! Ay mali pala, what make stand out is when I stand up and offer a chair to my sisters. And, I thank you.”
Then, Matty received the question, “what do you think men and women can learn from LGBTQIA+ like you?”
To which he articulately answered with the achievements of the LGBTQIA+ community.
“I believe that the best lesson that men and women can learn with the LGBT community is our freedom to express ourselves. I think that men and women are stuck in stereotypes and boxes that they put themselves in. That society has created for us. We have created archetypes of what men and women should be.
“But the LGBT community brought the gray scale. The LGBT community brought different colors to the rainbow. That is because we are allowed, and we allow ourselves to express whatever we want to be, may it be man or woman and in between, and I thank you.”
However, as fate would have it, Matty was the first to go via the draw lots.
Question and Answer Round 2.
After Matty’s elimination, it was up to Garcia and Almario to continue with Miss Gay Lotto.
The question for Lucas was, “What are the three lies that you keep on believing as truth in your lives?”
Garcia had difficulty answering the question. However, he still pulled through.
“I need an interpreter. I believe that my mom told me, “don’t talk to strangers.” Since you’re a stranger, I will not answer your question. Thank you so much! I love it!”
Almario received the question, “What would you do if fear is not a factor, and you could not fail?”
He then answered, highlighting the value of learning from failures and the importance of fear.
“I believe that fear is /very essential. Because this is the factor that makes us think that we can do and we cannot do. And, if you remove fear in our lives and no one fails, then everyone wins, and it’s not a good thing for everyone because sometimes failing is the best teacher in our lives. And if you are to remove one thing and push the other one na magkasalungat, then there’s no state of equilibrium. Thank you!”
After the draw lots, Almario came out victorious of the impromptu beauty pageant on zoom.
“I would call this competition Ms. Gay Lotto Fate because our answers never meant anything but our fate.”
