Kapuso star Sanya Lopez admitted that before she became a prominent artist, she started being an extra in shows and even experienced maltreatment. Lopez said that her past experiences helped her to be grounded.
In an interview with Pika-Pika Showbiz, she mentioned that one of her secrets is staying humble. Despite her successful career, she had some horrible past experiences in the beginning.
“Lagi ko lang po nire-remind ‘yung sarili ko. May mga bagay talaga na nakaka-overwhelm, na binibigay sa ‘yo lahat. Tapos to the point na ‘di kaya magmukha akong mayabang?'”
She said that she often reminds herself about her hardships as an extra in shows and even recalled the one time she was asked to leave the tent of a show.
She asked herself these questions: “‘Naalala mo dati, ganito ka lang?’ ‘Naalala mo nung extra ka pa lang, tapos pinalabas ka sa tent?’
“‘Yung mga bagay na ganun na feeling ko ‘pag di ko napagdaanan lahat ng ‘yun, baka ang yabang-yabang ko po ngayon,” she said.
The 24-year-old Lopez has two current lead roles on GMA Network, which are Yaya Melody in the top-rating primetime series First Yaya and as Maya Lagman of the weekend fantasy series Agimat ng Agila.
When asked about the attributes she possessed for her to be blessed with two successful shows, she said that she did not know any except that she always puts her best in her projects.
“Di ko po alam kung ano pong meron ako pero siguro lagi ko lang ginagawa, once na binigay sa akin ‘yung mga projects o trabaho, talagang pinabubutihan ko po at talagang focus po talaga ako doon.
“Mas priority ko po ‘yun, binibigay ko po ang best ko at lagi lang pong ganun.”
Both of her Kapuso shows received good feedback from Kapuso viewers and netizens.
As of April 29, First Yaya still sits on the throne as the most-watched weekday program, scoring 21.0% based on the numbers from AGB Nielsen NUTAM survey.
Agimat ng Agila showed a promising start with its pilot episode posting a 16.3% rating during its debut based on Nielsen Phils. NUTAM People Ratings.
