New Star Magic talent and Asia’s Next Top Model Season 5 winner Maureen Wroblewitz defended her boyfriend Juan Karlos Labajo and his remarks about acting in a teleserye.
In an exclusive interview, Wroblewitz said that Labajo referred to the lack of preparation time for actors during teleseryes.
“I think what JK was trying to say was just because you don’t have that much time to prepare. He was in a teleserye himself. And, it’s like you get the script a few minutes before, and you can’t really prepare for the role. But yeah, it takes a lot of focus energy to really be an actor. And a lot of people think it’s an easy job, but it’s not. It’s far from easy.”
In one interview from 2018, Labajo remarked that he didn’t consider acting in a teleserye as genuine acting.
Wroblewitz added that Labajo loves acting, but he’s focusing on music right now.
“He loves acting, he really does, but then he is more focused on singing. And more focused on his music right now.”
Wroblewitz expressed her interest in working with her boyfriend, saying, “if he decides to do acting again, of course, I’d love to.”
As for her career, Wroblewitz said she wants to focus on her acting talent.
“I would love to focus on acting first. I would need a lot of lessons for dancing because I’m not the best dancer. I am also not the best singer, but yeah, it would definitely be acting first.”
As for her future projects, Maureen hinted at upcoming announcements and a movie with Kit Thompson.
“I’m so excited to share them with everyone on my social media account. You’ll be updated there. I’ll be sharing very, very soon.
“I also have a movie coming up that I shot with Kit Thompson in New Zealand, and I’m really, really excited for people to see that.”
Wroblewitz signed her contract with Star Magic in the much-awaited Star Magic Black Pen Event this June 19.
