John Lloyd Cruz solidifies his return to showbiz as part of the GMA Network after meeting with one of its executives, Annette Gozon-Valdes.
Gozon-Valdes is the GMA Films President whom the actor had a meeting this Monday, June 14.
It can be recalled that the GMA Films president was the reason why Cruz is now a Kapuso. For 20 years, Valdes wooed Cruz in transferring to GMA Network. However, there was a “legal barrier” during their previous negotiations.
“Kasi nangyari na yan before. He was supposed to transfer almost 20 years ago, kaya lang nagkaroon ng legal obstacle… He assured us na wala na talaga. So, sabi ko nga (sa kanya), finally, yun na, baka ito na yung time na sa GMA ka na,” Gozon-Valdes said.
There were rumors that the actor’s guesting during an e-shopping platform special in GMA Network was the start of his transfer.
And eventually, Cruz signed a contract with Willie Revillame’s production company, WBR Entertainment Productions Inc. It is said that Revillame is talking with GMA Network to
Fortunately, this time around, Valdes ensured that there were no other hindrances upon the actor’s transfer to the Kapuso Network.
“I was the one who talked to John Lloyd, and he assured us that na wala na daw talaga siyang contractual obligations. So wala nang hadlang, wala nang obstacle in the way for him to appear on GMA.”
And over her Instagram, Gozon-Valdes proudly posted the moment that she and Cruz finally met.

The GMA Network executive captioned her post, “At last nagkita na kami. Exciting times ahead! Abangan!” with her teasing viewers of soon-to-be projects of the talented actor.
The photo of Gozon-Valdes and Cruz also garnered a lot of attention, especially from Kapuso stars.
Sofia Pablo, Kim Rodriguez, Kyline Alcantara, Shaira Diaz, Yasmien Kurdi, Mark Anthony Rosales, and Dianne Medina, all welcomed Cruz as a Kapuso as they expressed their excitement through Gozon-Valdes’s Instagram post.
In the meantime, the matinee idol is set to do a sitcom with Kapuso star Andrea Torres and Wille Revillame himself.
Aside from the upcoming sitcom, there is also a rumor that GMA Network is preparing a teleserye for the matinee idol.
