ABS-CBN’s FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano (FPJAP) must be careful in conducting medical portrayals.
The longest-running show of the Kapamilya Network had a disturbing scene that did not escape the eyes of netizens.
This particular scene, at first glance, seems fine. But there is something wrong with it. Check where the electrocardiogram (ECG) is placed.

This particular scene was from FPJAP’s 1390th episode. The villain Jacob Serrano, played by Marc Abaya, was fatally wounded after an encounter with Cardo Dalisay’s (Coco Martin) group.
When he was brought back to Renato Hipolito’s (John Arcilla) base, he immediately received medical treatment.
However, upon getting treated, the ECG was put in Jacob’s abdominal area.
According to a medical expert that we asked, the ECG’s purpose is to measure the condition of the heart. However, the location of the instrument depicts that Jacob’s heart is in his abdomen, and as a human being, that is scientifically impossible.
“Those are what we call ECG leads. They measure the condition of the heart. But those are not in the proper place,” the doctor said. “Nasa abdominal area na yan eh. Wala naman ang heart doon.”
With the show being consistent as a top-rated show, its production team must be critical in portraying situations such as this Jacob’s scene.
In the meantime, FPJAP continues to rake views and break its TV ratings. In AGB Nielsen NUTAM’s survey of May 31 to June 4, the show averaged 11.3%. On June 3’s episode, Virgie (Shamaine Buencamino) and Teddy (Joel Torre) lost their lives in a gunfight with Hipolito’s army. This particular scene tallied an online view of 154, 039, surpassing its previous record of 145, 813.
