Kapuso heartthrob Alden Richards admitted that he felt nervous upon hearing that he will be working with Dina Bonnevie.
Alden and Dina will be working alongside each other in the upcoming teleserye, The World Between Us.
But the actor said that it was normal for anyone who is going to do a new project, let alone be working with a great actress like Dina.
“It’s my first time working with miss Dina. At siyempre, pag gagawa ako ng bagong projects, lagi akong kinakabahan.
“I guess as actors, yung isa sa mga bagay na nilo-look forward namin is to work with people and actors who will make us at the edge of our seats. Na lagi kaming pinapa-kaba, [just] to bring out the best in us.”
More than that, Alden did not want to mess up in front of a seasoned actress.
“The first few days na nakatrabaho ko si miss D was yun ang lagi kong nararamdaman. Ayokong mapahiya in short,” he added.
Nevertheless, the actor should not be worried about anything. Dina was mesmerized by the actor’s dimples.
“For me, working with Alden Richards is something really refreshing. It’s the first time I’m working with him. Actually, nakakatuwa kasi when you’re doing a scene with him, you can’t help but stare at his dimple,” the actress laughingly said.
But on a serious note, Dina was amazed by how passionate Alden is in his craft. And she is very happy that finally, she has the chance to work with him.
“Si Alden kasi is a very passionate actor. Yung talagang you can feel his heart in every scene, he gives his best. He is not afraid to explore. You know, to let his emotions go and to go with the flow.
“Parang when you are doing a scene with him, ramdam mo na nagbibigayan kayo. You can feel his energy, he can feel your energy. It’s like you are making music together. Yun ang experience ko sa kanya and he is so professional. I’m really happy that finally, I am working with Alden.”
Alden’s number one critic
In the same press conference, Alden also revealed that his number one critic is another seasoned actress, Jaclyn Jose. Together, they did numerous projects such as the 2013 Kapuso series, Mundo Mo’y Akin.
“I worked with her for the longest time. And tita Jing is my number one critic. Kahit minsan hindi ko na siya kasama sa isang teleserye or movie, nagugulat ako merong text yan or tawag sakin,” the actor revealed.
In fact, the actor frequently receives calls from Jaclyn telling him how he did on his projects, whether if his performance is great or not. And for the actor, he really appreciates how the actress is committed to making him a better artist.
“I appreciate it at parang nagkaroon talaga ako ng nanay with tita Jing when it comes to acting. The way she takes care of me, project after project is hindi na project-wise. Kumbaga parang lifetime commitment na niya na maging critic ko.”
And for an actor such as Alden, it is a good thing that Jaclyn and other veteran actors are there to teach him, to learn from them.
“That’s the reason why I’m really looking forward to work with the veteran actors in the industry. Because I learn so much. It doesn’t matter how long you are in the industry. Because it never stops teaching. So we actors never stop learning,” he added.
So how does Alden prepares for this teleserye?
Apparently, weeks after the script for The World Between Us, its cast would do script-reading from time to time.
But for Alden, his technique on bringing his character into life is not by studying. It is actually up to him how he spices things up with a unique character that GMA Network has given him.
“So the key here is to not really watch a lot of films. Siguro watch series especially on Netflix to acquire certain knowledge.
“But it’s really up to me kung paano ko bibigyan ng sariling flavor yung pag-switch ni Louie sa character niya when the time comes that he has to take vengeance sa mga people who had hurt him,” explained the actor.
The World Between Us is the first project of GMA Network that will star Tom Rodriguez, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, and Alden Richards, three of the brightest Kapuso stars.
The series aims to tell that true love bridges gaps, regardless of how deep or how wide.
Here, Alden plays Luisito “Louie” Asuncion while Jasmine dons Emilia “Lia” Libradilla. Both of them grew up together at the home of the Libdradillas. But as they feel that they meant for each other, they discover that there are people who are keen on keeping them apart.
Catch The World Between Us premiering this July. Only on GMA Network.
