Pop Heartthrob, Darren Espanto is making a groundbreaking pivot in his career, as he takes the role of the idols he looks up to, to inspire today’s talented aspirants
There’s a new show online, and there are many reasons to see it. For one, it is showing on platforms closest to young netizens and viewers. It showcases young talents and their individual journeys, too. But perhaps, the biggest reason to follow it, is that Darren Espanto, is the one hosting it.
The dreams of our youth to become today’s biggest pop idols, are the main attraction on TNT POP Show. It’s the online lifestyle show of TNT that will feature the journey of Kabatang Pinoy in pursuit of their dreams. As Darren, himself, who used to join various contests before, this stint no doubt means a lot for him. Espanto joined The Voice Kids in 2014, where he emerged as one of the grand finalists of the show.
On his selection as the host of the show, he shared that he is “…happy and excited to be hosting the TNT POP Show. Gaya din ng ilan, I pursued my dream to become a performer by joining different talent contests”. He also stressed his faith on today’s talented youth to thrive in the business by sharing their talent and unique inspiring stories.
The young pop heartthrob is joined by actress, Adrianna So, who was also a talent search aspirant before. So has recently gathered attention when she became a cast member of a hit web BL series. It’s amazing to see these two enormous talent join forces in discovering motivating stories of our Kabataang Pinoys, and allowing them shine in a platform that is more accessible to young dreamers who follow the show.
The pilot episode of the show was streamed on TNT’s official YouTube and Facebook accounts, on June 9, Wednesday at 5PM (succeeding episodes airs every Saturday). The show features groups of young talented Filipinos, and allow them share their thoughts on how influencers like them should use their reach to spread joy and inspiration to others. Games and other exciting activities will excite viewers in Pop Trip, one of its segments, which features Popstars of the week. The show also guests big pop stars, like KZ Tandingan, who graced the premiere to impart her own uplifting story
The arrival of TNT POP Show feels like an apt and necessary response to current PPOP explosion in the country. More talents are expected to emerge, and TNT POP Show is conveniently available to allow them share their journey, that may also inspire others to hop on to the bandwagon.
