Claudine Barretto, who has been in the showbiz industry for decades, has noticed how teen stars of today are very different than back then.
“The difference between young stars before sa young stars ngayon is that andami-dami nila. And parang mas commercial sila kesa sa acting,” Barretto pointed in the virtual press conference for her upcoming movie “Deception”.
Commercialized. That’s what Barretto described the present young stars. In terms of loveteams, the actress also stressed that networks have many options unlike before, which is a problem for young artists.
“Ang problema kasi ngayon marami sila. May JaDine, KathNiel, LizQuen, nag JoshLia, ngayon JuRald.”
Meanwhile, Barretto, who is returning to the movie scene with “Deception” revealed that working has always been her top priority.
“It’s something that you cannot say na okay break muna ako. My passion has always been show business. This is all I know and what I think I’m good at,” admitted the actress.
In fact, she misses everything that she does during taping or shooting scenes. Her passion for show business has never dwindled even though she took a hiatus from it.
“I also miss the chaos, kahit puyatan namimiss ko. Kasi iba talaga eh. This is my passion talaga eh,” she reminisced.
Barretto will star in the film, “Deception” produced by Viva Films and Borracho Entertainment. She will be playing a former actress who was convicted of parricide and arson. Upon serving time in prison, she gets the chance to redeem herself. Her leading man, Mark Anthony Fernandez, was her on-screen and off-screen partner during her younger years.
The movie is set to start filming on June 11.
