Jairus Aquino realizes that after 15 years, it is time to move forward and embark on a new chapter in his career, via different management.
“Na-realize ko na 15 years I guess is pretty long enough for me to move forward and to explore more opportunities for me. Kasi naisip ko hindi na rin tayo bumabata at ang oras eh hindi rin naman ganun kabagal. So naisip ko, kailangan na talagang mag-move forward,” explained the actor.
The 22-year-old Jairus recently signed a contract with Viva Artists Agency (VAA), Friday, June 18.
“At nung nagkaron naman kami ng conversation, parang naging maganda naman yung usapan. So andito ako ngayon,” he added.
Although he is now with VAA, and starting a new milestone for his career, he is quite sad that he has to leave Star Magic to which he had been for more than a decade.
“Sobrang nakakalungkot din naman. Kasi ang haba ng pinagsamahan namin dun. And I’m very much grateful din naman ako kasi nabigyan nila ako ng madaming opportunities. Kaya nakakalungkot, kasi talagang tahanan mo yun at naging pamilya mo din sila. Pero again, it’s time to move forward,” said Aquino.
Apart from his realization, he is aiming to leave a mark in the showbiz industry as someone who really knows his craft.
“Ang gusto ko lang na ma-achieve is yung tumatak si Jairus, yung artista na isa sa mga alam ang ginagawa niya sa industriya. Hindi man sobrang famous, pero succesful in this line of work,” he revealed.
Jairus Aquino is best known for his roles in Super Inggo, Kung Fu Kids, and Love U.
Now, he is trying to branch out from his previous portrayals and is now preparing himself to have more mature roles through Viva.
If ever, Jairus wants to become an action star, more of like Keanu Reeves in John Wick, even Denzel Washington in Equalizer.
“Ang gusto ko po talagang gawin ngayon is action, ‘yong mala-John Wick na action. Hindi ‘yong overload na action. When you see John Wick action or Denzel Washington movies… it’s just clean action scenes.
‘Yon po ‘yong gusto kong gawin para makita ding may ibang touch ‘yong Pinoy when it comes to watching films or teleserye.”
Since he is now a part of VAA, the actor is also open to working with different TV networks as long as he is allowed to do so.
“Me, personally, and what I see is kung nasaan ‘yong trabaho doon po kami. If ABS will still give me the opportunity to be with them, why not? Bakit po hindi?
“But if other networks invite me to work with them, okay lang din naman po,” ended the actor.
