Opposition party 1Sambayan recently named Vice President Leni Robredo as one of the possible bets for the upcoming Presidential election.
Her supporters officially launched Team Leni Robredo via a facebook live show.
The group is composed of celebrities and personalities, who vowed their support for Robredo even though the latter has yet to confirm her plans of running for the 2022 elections.
Different sector representatives joined in pledging their support for Robredo.
Urban poor sector representative Suzette Villones pointed out Robredo’s humility as she tried to reach out even to the smallest communities.
From the women’s sector, Colourette Cosmetics CEO Nina Dizon said that she saw Robredo’s authenticity in serving the people, especially during this pandemic. Similarly, Maybel Flores, speaking on behalf of the senior citizens also felt Robredo’s sincerity in carrying out her duties and responsibilities as a Vice President.
Artist Saab Magalona of the youth sector believes that Robredo is passionate about serving the Filipino people which makes her deserving of the Presidential position.
Aside from Saab, other artists were also present during the said event.
Gracenote, Moonstar88, Banda ni Kleggy, Audie Gemora, Ebe Dancel, 6cyclemind, Juris, Bituin Escalante, Ryan Cayabyab, Jamie Rivera, Robert Seña, Isay Alvarez, Jed Madela, The Company, and Agot Isidro, performed during the event to show their support to Robredo.
Celebrities Enchong Dee and Lauren Young were also present at the launching of Team Robredo.
During the live event, Dee said that they want to help Robredo continue her service to the country. He also talked about the power of unity, which can help the country rise again.
Dee previously admitted that he voted for Duterte during the 2016 election however, due to the latter’s incompetence he now turned out as one of the firm critics of the administration.
Robredo’s response to her nomination as one of the 1Sambayan’s bet for 2022 was used to close the program.
The other five nominated by 1Sambayan were Chel Diokno, Sen. Grace Poe, Batangas 6th District Representative Vilma Santos, ex-senator Antonio Trillanes IV, and CIBAC Representative Eddie Villanueva.
