Viva artist and first-time host Yassi Pressman said she could relate to the story of one of the contestants in her new game show, Rolling In It.
During the virtual conference for the game show, Pressman shared how the unnamed contestant, who she referred to as “Raketista” changed her life.
“Mayroon po kaming contestant na she’s very happy po where she is now, napakarami nya pong ginawang trabaho. Tinawag na Raketista. Kung saan po s’ya pwedeng kumita ng pera, kahit anong trabaho gagawin n’ya para lang makapag-provide sa pamilya n’ya.”
She then recalled how the said contestant got out of an abusive relationship and turned her life around for her child.
“Pero nung una po, sa una n’yang anak nagkaroon po s’ya ng experience na hindi n’ya po alam kung paano s’ya makakawala doon sa relasyon and she was being abused.
“Finally, nagkaroon po s’ya ng loob na lumaban humingi po ng tulong, at nakaalis na po s’ya sa lugar na ‘yun. Luckily, the world gave her a new love, at ngayon mga bago pang mga anak para lalong mabuo ‘yung pamilya n’ya.”
Then, when asked if she had a personal experience that made her relate to the contestant, she shared how her dad singlehandedly provided for her and her sister.
“It was hard po growing up, having like almost a single dad. It was difficult po to have a parent na OFW noong una po.”
She also recalled that despite the financial struggles they faced as a family, she still feels lucky.
“You know, Christmas, little things, you get socks, you’re so happy. You barely changed shoes for school alam mo yun, pero I never felt that when I was younger because of the love that was provided by my father and by my sister. Kaya I would say, I’m still lucky.”
Pressman’s father, Ronnie Pressman, passed away at the age of 90 in February of 2020.
The former FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano leading lady takes on a new chapter in her life by helping contestants achieve their dreams through the Philippine adaptation of the British game show, Rolling In It.
Contestants will play a large-scale coin arcade game with their celebrity partners for the chance to win up to Php 2,000,000.
Premiering this June 5, the audience can watch the latest airing of Rolling In It on TV5 with catch-up episodes on Cignal TV Channel 3, and SatLite Channel 30 the next day.
