A year after ABS-CBN’s cease of broadcast, Vice Ganda assures that their detractors have never defeated the Kapamilya.
Following the cease-and-desist order of the National Telecommunications Commission against ABS-CBN, the network was forced to cease its operation and leave free TV on May 5, 2020.
On Wednesday, the first anniversary of the historic shutdown of the country’s largest media network was remembered.
A year after the network’s downfall, Vice Ganda expressed his constant support to the Kapamilya.
“Isang taon na ang nakalipas ng tangkain ng mga ganid at masasamang loob na ang mga KAPAMILYA ay mapagkaitan ng serbisyong kailangang kailangan nila lalo sa panahon ng pandemya. Ngunit di sila lubos na nagtagumpay” he said.
He pointed out that their detractors have never won the fight because despite the network’s closure they continue to be of service to the Filipinos.
ang sinumpaang linyang “In the service of the Filipino worldwide”. Ang pamilya ay di sinusukuan. Nahihirapan ngunit nagtatagumpay. Andito pa rin kami para sa’yo KAPAMILYA!

Despite the struggle, they will continue to fight to deliver entertainment to the people. They are never defeated!
With the non-renewal of their franchise, ABS-CBN shifted to social media platforms to continue some of their shows. They also partnered with TV5 and ZOE TV, which was rebranded as A2Z.
During the franchise hearing of ABS-CBN in Congress, the network faced questions regarding its alleged violations. However, none of these were proven true.
Regulating agencies including (Bureau of Internal Revenue) BIR and (Security and Exchange Commission) SEC, have cleared the network and affirmed that it has no violations. Despite this, Congress still voted to reject the network’s franchise renewal.
