A former ABS-CBN sportscaster transferred to GMA Network after working for almost four years as a Kapamilya.
Kapuso Network introduced Martin Javier, a former Kapamilya anchorman as one of its newest sports anchors for Rise Up Stronger: The Road to NCAA Season 96 together with beauty queen Sophia Senoron.
They will cover and host the forthcoming National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) tournament in June 2021.

Javier became an anchor of ABS-CBN Sports in 2016 and was part of ABS-CBN’s coverage team of some of the biggest sports leagues in the country.
In an Instagram post, Javier reminisced how he struggled to become a reporter.
He recalled, he was discovered by Vic Claridad of ABS-CBN. Claridad got him a stint as an anchor for NCAA Season 92, finally giving him the break he needed.
Unfortunately, Javier was among those who were severely affected by the Network’s closure in 2020.
But his change of network does not mean he will forget what happened back in 2020—shut down of ABS-CBN.
“A day after, the pain still feels the same. But I don’t want to forget this feeling. I wanna remember it ‘til we get retribution. ‘Til the 11,000 get their jobs back. We may be off the air for now, but we’re never off the minds and hearts of Filipinos worldwide.”

His transfer to the Kapuso network, Javier is grateful to ABS-CBN for molding him into the sportscaster he is today, emphasizing that he will be forever a Kapamilya.
“It has been a fulfillment of my dream of becoming a sportscaster and host. All of that made possible by ABS-CBN. I will forever be in their debt.
“Hanggang sa muli. Maraming salamat, ABS-CBN! #ForeverKapamilya.”

ABS-CBN ceased its operation back in May 2020 after its 25-year franchise expired. The Duterte administration refused to renew the network’s franchise, resulting in over 11,000 employees losing their jobs amid the pandemic.
