After a year from ABS-CBN’s devastating shutdown, netizens expressed their disappointment with some Kapamilya stars not showing support to the network.
This netizen bluntly called out some of the Kapamilya stars, noting that their support to the network in 2020 was “superficial.”
Lahat ng mga artistang taga-Ignacia na superficial lang ang suporta sa @ABSCBN last year, sila ngayon iyong deadma na. Ni hashtag wala. Ang dadaling naka-move on kasi nga wala naman silang pake kahit noon pa. Nagpakilala talaga ang mga shutaina. Pangalanan ko ba? #IbalikAngABSCBN

Walang paramdam yung isang big star ng dos yun pala busy sa shooting ng pelikula nya sa GMA Faketures. Sana lang talaga tumabo yan sa takilya ingrata ka.#IbalikAngABSCBN

ABS-CBN ventured into digital platforms such as Facebook and YouTube after its shutdown on May 5, 2020.
Despite their bold move to migrate to digital programming, ABS-CBN still encountered uphill struggles brought by the pandemic and the shutdown. Unfortunately, it led to the decision of the network to retrench some of its employees, assets, and talents.
After a grueling process, the network returned to free TV by forging partnerships with other networks Zoe TV and TV5.
Despite all these feats, ABS-CBN still lacks the resources it needs to return to its former glory and nationwide reach.
Many far-flung communities rely on the Kapamilya network to deliver news programs, especially during calamities.
