ABS-CBN continues its yearly tradition of releasing a new summer anthem, which all Filipinos will surely sing and dance to.
The Asia’s Soul Supreme and fast-rising P-Pop group, BGYO, are in synergy in the dance video of ABS-CBN’s summer campaign, Feel Good Pilipinas. The release calls for Filipinos to unite in spreading light and joy this summer. It’s a very meaningful song delivered with hyped-up summer energy. The theme perfectly duplicates that of last year’s Christmas Station ID, entitled ‘Ikaw Ang Liwanag at Ligaya’ (You are the Light and Joy), which was utterly meaningful given then ABS-CBN’s still fresh exit from free television.
And now that it has victoriously returned through the leasing deals it made with TV5 and A2Z Channel 11, ABS-CBN keeps the spirit alive by promoting the much-needed good vibes that most Filipinos have been deprived of, since the onset of this pandemic.
The words of the song were penned by Lawrence Arvin Sibug and Robert Labayen of ABS-CBN Creative Communication Management (CCM) while the music was composed by Thyro Alfaro and Francis Salazar. The free-spirited lyrics are brimming with good vibes and beautiful inspirations that would surely motivate every Filipino. As it talks about our nature of finding ways to stay positive amidst struggles, Feel Good Pilipinas is a convincing encouragement for everyone to become each other’s source of light and joy. It gives a special highlight on our resilience, the memories we create with our loved ones, even during dark times like pandemics. It is a fitting tribute to our optimism and dedication to hurdle difficult circumstances.
That seems to be the very motivation of this song: to empower all Filipinos into becoming each other’s light and joy. And what better way is there to celebrate that power than to sing and dance under the summer heat? The creators of this campaign seem to recognize our long-held-back desire to have this sense of being free and alive, after being practically imprisoned in our homes for more than a year. Of course, with health protocols and physical distancing in mind, there’s finally a great reason to sing and dance under the summer sun.
The music video beautifully complements the beats of the song, as it bursts with both light and vivid colors. KZ’s vocals are similarly oozing with flair and spunk, while BGYO provides that wide range of contrasts. As this is largely intended to become summer’s dance anthem, BGYO’s dance moves seem to be choreographed so that anyone can easily dance along.
A longer music video, featuring Kapamilya artists and stories of hope is anticipated to be released in the coming weeks.
