Talent manager and comedian Ogie Diaz defended Angel Locsin after the actress received backlash from the netizens over the tragedy on her birthday-cum-community pantry last week, April 23.
To recall, Angel organized a community pantry event in her locality as her way of helping the citizens as well as celebrating her 36th birthday on the aforementioned date. The event turned into a horrible experience as a 67-year-old man, Rolando Dela Cruz, fainted while standing in line to receive goods and was rushed to East Avenue Medical Center, but already arrived dead.
Some netizens blamed the actress for her failure to organize the event well, which they claimed led to the death of a senior citizen.
In Ogie Diaz’s YouTube vlog which premiered on Tuesday, April 27, he defended the actress saying that her willingness to help other people should not be disregarded.
Lahat, in fairness to Angel napaka-consistent niya,” Ogie remarked.
Some netizens are politicizing Angel’s acts of kindness saying that the actress is only working on her public image as she is planning to serve as a politician someday.
Ogie debunked this as he noted that Angel is not planning to run as a politician and if ever the actress would do so, she would simply win.
Senadora ‘yan o congresswoman or party list. Ogie said.
Ogie then claimed that the people who bashed Angel Locsin are the ones who did not contribute a single thing to the community.
Karamihan po eh puro ano lang eh, puro bashing through the snow….” he said.
Meanwhile, some celebrities and Netizens also showed their support for Locsin as they defended her from bashers who blamed her for the death of Rolando Dela Cruz.
