Kapuso Mom and singer Maricris Garcia shared how having their Kapuso Moms group online helped her with her first baby and other first-time mothers amid the pandemic.
In a zoom conference with fellow Kapuso Moms for Mother’s Day this Sunday, May 9, Garcia said, “So ang laking tulong nun. Ang laking nakakagaan ng loob na mayroon kang kasabay dun sa pinagdadaanan mo.”
Garcia then recalled how a sudden boom of first-time mothers happened during the pandemic.
“Oo sobra, sobrang dami tapos na sakto pa kasi na ang dami din na sabay sabay nabuntis, di ba?”
She also recounted what she felt when having her first baby, noting that she often shares it with their online group.
“So, tapos bilang first time, at hindi naman nakakalabas so paminsan feeling mo, nung una may mga napagdadaanan ka na akala mo may problema ka, akala mo ikaw lang yung ganon. So pag na-share mo dun sa group na yun, tapos sasabihin nila na “hoy alam mo ako din ganyan.” O kaya, yung isa mas malala pa yung pinagdadaanan.”
Now, she actively provides advice to other first-time mothers on their online group.
“Kaya ngayon pag mayroon din akong mga friends and kakilala, na sila naman yung buntis, pag nagpo-post sila na o buntis ako, minemessage ko talaga sila na “oy pag may question ka, sabihin mo lang sa akin. Kapag may ano ka, pinagdadaanan ka sabihin mo lang sa akin kwentuhan tayo.”
Kapuso moms made an online group to support first-time mothers that became vital during the pandemic.
Garcia married her husband TJ Cruz in 2016. She then gave birth to their first baby girl, Adaiah Denise, in January of 2021
Garcia started her career as a contestant for the GMA Network’ 2005 singing competition on TV, ‘Pinoy Pop Superstar’. After that, Garcia became part of the singing trio, La Diva.
Garcia is also a known actress with her appearances in ‘Legally Blind’, ‘My Love From the Stars’, and ‘Magkaagaw’. More recently, she became part of the Kapuso series, ‘Love of My Life’.
