Maja Salvador’s TV5 primetime drama series Niña Niño continues to climb in the rating leaderboard as its viewership grows.
According to the data from AGB Nielsen NUTAM survey, Niña Niño scored 4.0% on Thursday, May 6 earning the 13th spot among the Top 20 Most-Watched Weekday Programs nationwide.
While on Wednesday, May 5, the series scored 3.7% which was ranked in 14th place.
The ratings were exceptionally higher this month compared to its ratings on April 15 where it only reached 3.0%.
Its latest rating number is currently its highest since its premiere on April 5 where it scored 1.7%.
Although its pilot episode did not manage to get into the Top 20 rating leaderboard, its rating is still considered fair given TV5’s still limited reach having only 16 total combined owned and affiliate stations nationwide for both analog and digital.
Also, the series goes head-to-head with GMA Network’s top-rating newscast 24 Oras being aired on the same timeslot.
Apart from Maja Salvador, the series also stars Noel Comia Jr., 16, who portrays Niño, the younger brother of Niña (Salvador).
The series is produced by Spring Films, CS Studios, and Cignal Entertainment.
Salvador’s series proved to be a great pre-program to ABS-CBN’s primetime bida line-up while she was still with the Network.
Her previous Kapamilya series Wildflower, which aired in the pre-primetime slot helped improve TV Patrol and succeeding series by defeating its Kapuso rival in the rating leaderboard.
