Kapamilya star Kim Chiu thanked her ‘ASAP Natin ‘To’ family for allowing her to dance in the variety show even if she commits mistakes with the steps.
ASAP gave Kim Chiu the “Queen of the Dance Floor” title last October 2020 as she has been one of the favorites and anticipated performers on the show.
In an episode of ‘It’s Showtime’ that premiered on Youtube on Tuesday, May 11, the 31-year-old actress-host said that ASAP allowed her to improve her dancing skills.
She said that her dancing skills were not honed before but with the help of ASAP who continues to push her capabilities, she gained confidence in herself and in performing on stage.
“Hindi ako magaling sumayaw,”
“Sa ASAP sobrang malaki talaga ‘yung pasasalamat ko dahil nagkakamali ako sa sayaw, nagkahulog-hulog, nakakalimutan ko ‘yung mga steps pero binibigyan pa rin nila ako ng pagkakataon na sumayaw sa stage,” she said.
“Hanggang sa, sa hiya ko na lang, dapat galingan ko na lang. Nahasa na lang ng panahon,” she added.
There have been a lot of clips online showing the dance fails of Kim Chiu while performing on ASAP but she continues to improve and stick to her title of “Queen of the Dance Floor.”
Some of the notable dance fails of Kim Chiu include her “Where Have You Been” dance with Enchong Dee in 2012, “Supah Dance” segment alongside John Prats, Enchong Dee, and James Reid in 2015, and her performance with Yassi Pressman, Arron Villaflor, and Enzo Pineda in 2018 where she slipped on the fiberglass.
Despite her performance failures, Kim Chiu is still given the title “Queen of the Dance Floor.” She previously thanked her ASAP family for giving her the title even though she said that she may not be the best dancer.
The said title was previously Maja Salvador’s until she opted to move out to TV5 alongside ASAP‘s mainstay Piolo Pascual. She was one of the main hosts of Brightlight Productions’, the now-defunct Sunday Noontime Live!
