The son of former President Joseph Estrada and former actress Laarni Enriquez, a former Kapuso star Jake Ejercito is now a Kapamilya, and is set to star in the upcoming ABS-CBN teleserye, Marry Me, Marry You.
He will join fellow former Kapuso actresses Janine Gutierrez and Sunshine Dizon.
Ejercito had a formal introduction via a Kapamilya virtual press conference on Friday, April 30. However, his transfer should be earlier if not for the pandemic.
His long wait is finally over. He is thrilled to start working, now that he’s officially a Kapamilya.
“I’m just really excited because I’ve been waiting quite a while, more than a year. I can’t wait to work with everyone on and off-cam. I feel like I belong.
“When I got the offer and saw the cast for Marry Me, Marry You, it was really overwhelming and exciting at the same time. I’m so grateful to sir Deo Endrinal for giving me this chance.
Moreover, he will be paired with former KapJake Ejercito: A Proud Kapamilya with an Upcoming Teleseryeuso star Janine Gutierrez. He will also get to work with the multi-awarded actor Paulo Avelino.
Being in the company of both Gutierrez and Avelino he can’t contain his feelings.
“I know where I’m coming from, I’m still overwhelmed until now. Ever since, inaaral ko na talaga yung script. I would ask my mom and dad for advice. I can’t wait to start taping,” he shared.
Remembering his stay in London, Ejercito admitted that the only way for him and her sister Jerika to cure their homesickness is through ABS-CBN’s iWantTFC.
“When I was based in London, all we had was TFC. Especially ‘pag homesick kami ng sister ko, we watch TFC like ‘yung mga movies ni John Lloyd and Sarah Geronimo,” he confessed.
The 31-year-old star listed the names of Kapamilya actors John Lloyd Cruz, Jericho Rosales, Piolo Pascual, and Coco Martin he admires.
But of course, his switch to ABS-CBN is also because he wants to progress further with his acting career. Nevertheless, he trusts Direk Lauren Dyogi and Star Magic to nurture him and help him manage his career.
In Marry Me, Marry You, Jake will play the hindrance between the characters of Janine and Paulo. He will be the third party. They will also be supported by a stellar cast–Cherry Pie Picache, Vina Morales, Teresa Loyzaga, Lito Pimentel, Joko Diaz, Jett Pangan, Edu Manzano, and the newest Kapamilya–Sunshine Dizon.
Marry Me, Marry You, will start its production soon.
